    Die 1. Selbständige Polnische Fallschirmjägerbrigade unter Stanisław Sosabowski war für den Absprung über Polen aufgestellt worden. Stattdessen setzten die Alliierten sie im September 1944 bei Driel gegenüber von Arnheim ab, wo sie den Rest der britischen 1. Luftlandedivision über den Niederrhein entlasten sollte. Schweres Gerät hatte die Brigade dort nicht; gegen deutsche Panzer blieb der PIAT.

    On the tabletop

    Four Polish paratroopers form two PIAT teams in Bolt Action, the anti-tank element of your parachute brigade. The PIAT fired a shaped charge using a spring rather than a rocket motor and was effective only to around a hundred metres, so you wait with the teams in houses and hedges until a vehicle comes close enough. At Driel and Arnhem in 1944 the brigade had no heavy equipment, and these weapons were its main answer to German tanks.
