    Nach 1918 zog fast jede Armee denselben Schluss: Infanterie braucht eigenes Steilfeuer, das sie selbst tragen kann. Die leichteste Klasse blieb unter fünf Kilo, wurde von zwei Mann bedient und war in Sekunden feuerbereit. Für Luftlandeverbände war das die einzige Artillerie, die zuverlässig mit an Bord kam - alles Schwerere musste per Lastensegler nachkommen oder blieb ganz zurück. Entsprechend oft hing das Gefecht an diesen kleinen Rohren.

    On the tabletop

    The four figures with light mortars give your Polish paratroopers in Bolt Action high-angle fire they can carry themselves. A light mortar fires in an arc over walls and hedges at enemies sheltering in cover from direct fire. Because the weapon weighs very little, the team stays mobile and keeps up with the infantry. For airborne units it was often the only artillery that reliably reached the ground with them.
