    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    Poland's 10th Motorized Brigade was one of the most modern and combat-effective units in the Polish Army at the outbreak of World War II. Its members wore distinctive black leather jackets and German-style steel helmets, earning the unit the nickname "Black Brigade." Under the command of General Maczek, the formation comprised infantry, artillery, as well as armored and motorized elements, and was designed for mobile, flexible warfare. In the defensive battles of autumn 1939, the brigade repeatedly repelled mechanized and armored attackers. To avoid capitulation, the command eventually led the remaining forces across the border into Hungary, from where the survivors continued the fight in France and later formed the basis of the 1st Polish Armoured Division.

    As a regular rifle squad, this unit is suitable for a wide range of tactical roles in the Bolt-Action game system. The figure composition with NCO, automatic rifle, and eight standard riflemen fully covers the typical firepower profile of an infantry squad. For scenarios around the 1939 Polish campaign, this set is the most authentic choice - the NCO's black leather jacket makes the unit immediately recognizable on the gaming table. The squad can also be used for Polish forces in France in 1940.
