Product details

Background & context

From 1942 the German leadership had the Atlantic Wall built along the coasts from Norway to southern France. Organisation Todt poured thousands of bunkers to standard designs, from small ring positions to heavy gun casemates. On the Normandy beaches several bunkers with trenches and minefields formed a strongpoint known as a Widerstandsnest, or resistance nest. Many of these structures still stand on the coast today.

On the tabletop

Position the two bunkers so their fields of fire overlap, forcing the attacker to suppress both at once. Under the removable roof you place machine gun teams or observers. Behind a beach with a landing craft and obstacles they form a stretch of the Atlantic Wall, while on the edge of a town they guard the way in. They make a mission objective that engineers have to knock out.
