Muskets shouldered, marching forward in step: this column shows musketeers on the march to the line. Poses that bring movement to an army that otherwise usually stands rigidly in rank and file on the gaming table.

Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

Eight musketeers with shouldered weapons show a column on its way to the battle line in Pike & Shotte, fitting the English Civil War. Individually the musket was heavy and inaccurate, but en masse it was effective, protected against cavalry by the pikes. Field the figures as a marching division in scenarios where troops are still coming up, or mix them in with your musketeers. Inverlochy showed what massed musketry could achieve.
