Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

At sieges in Pike & Shotte a mortar belongs in your force, as it lobs its bombs in a steep arc over walls and towers into the streets beyond. It was rarely used in the open field, so you set it up in front of a town, castle or earthwork. Give it a skilled crew, since fuse and powder charge had to be just right. That way you put garrison and townsfolk under pressure until the defenders think about surrender.
