Product details

Background & context

Cavalry remained a crucial factor for flank attacks, pursuit, and mounted fire combat in the Pike & Shotte period. European armies utilized various types of cavalry such as cuirassiers, reiters, and dragoons. The generic box is therefore not limited to a single nation.

On the tabletop

From plastic you build twelve heavy cavalrymen of the 17th century here, as Royalists, Parliamentarians or a Thirty Years' War regiment. In Pike & Shotte you deploy them as squadrons on a wing beside your infantry. Once your wing has routed the enemy horse, you wheel in and attack the flank of the enemy foot. Take care that your riders do not gallop off after the fleeing enemy instead.
