Product details

Background & context

Shortly after midnight on 6 June 1944, Horsa gliders set down D Company of the 2nd Ox and Bucks under Major John Howard a few dozen metres from the bridge at Bénouville, the first Allied action of D-Day. The German guard was overrun within minutes, and then the harder part began: holding against counter-attacks until the Commandos arrived in the afternoon. The locals later named the bridge after the Pegasus badge of the 6th Airborne Division.

On the tabletop

The tilting bridge with its barriers goes in the middle of the table, with the Café Gondrée at its end, whose interior you can occupy with figures, plus the bunker and telegraph poles. The German side defends with 24 grenadiers, the 5 cm KwK 39 and its three-man crew in their gun emplacement, and the MG42 team in the nest. Facing them, Major John Howard leads 12 British Airborne and is thus clearly outnumbered. What the game is about is set by the scenarios in the 16-page booklet. The core rulebook and Order Dice are not included; you will need those in addition to play.
