    Patton lernte den Panzerkrieg 1918 in Frankreich, als das US Tank Corps gerade erst existierte, und blieb zwanzig Jahre lang der laute Verfechter einer Waffe, die kaum jemand ernst nahm. 1944 bekam er die Third Army und bewies seine Rechnung: Ausbruch aus der Normandie, Hetzjagd über Frankreich und im Dezember die Schwenkung nach Norden, um den Kessel von Bastogne aufzubrechen. Umstritten blieb er bis zuletzt, vor allem weil er sagte, was er dachte.

    On the tabletop

    General George S. Patton gives your American army a face at the top in Bolt Action, as a senior officer or a scenario figure. He suits North Africa, Sicily and above all 1944, with the breakout from Normandy and his Third Army's turn towards Bastogne. He had already learned tank warfare in the new US Tank Corps in 1918, so he fits an army with plenty of tanks. The metal figure shows him as the outspoken general he was.
