The Panzer Lehr Squad depicts ten soldiers from the Panzer Lehr Division - the only fully mechanized division of the Wehrmacht. Their characteristic feature is the double-breasted assault gun-style field jacket instead of the usual army field blouse. The highly detailed metal miniatures are suitable for Late-War scenarios on the Western Front, from Normandy to the Ardennes.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

The Panzer-Lehr-Division (Panzer-Lehr = "Armored Training") was formed in 1943 from experienced veterans of the campaigns in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. These highly skilled soldiers formed the core of this demonstration and training unit, which was considered an elite formation from its inception. In 1944, the division participated in the occupation of Hungary before being transferred to France to await the Allied invasion. Unlike other Panzer divisions, all Panzergrenadiers of the Panzer-Lehr were motorized on halftracks-the only fully mechanized unit of the German Wehrmacht. It fought from June 1944 in Normandy, in the Battle of the Bulge, and on the Western Front until the end of the war.

On the tabletop, the unit is suitable for elite infantry lists. It can be used strategically in key engagements. It is particularly effective in combination with armored units.
