Background & context

Der Wagen hieß ursprünglich vz 38 und stammte aus der tschechoslowakischen Rüstungsindustrie, die 1939 in deutsche Hand fiel - das kleine t im Namen steht schlicht für tschechisch. Mit 37-mm-Kanone und zwei Maschinengewehren zog er 1940 mit der 7. und 8. Panzerdivision durch Frankreich und war beim Angriff auf die Sowjetunion breit im Einsatz. Ungarn, Rumänien und die Slowakei bekamen eigene Lieferungen. 1942 endete die Fertigung, sein Fahrgestell trug aber weiter Selbstfahrlafetten wie den Marder III.

On the tabletop

Three Panzer 38(t)s make a light German armoured platoon for Bolt Action, as driven by the 7th and 8th Panzer Divisions in France in 1940. Each carries a 37 mm gun with coaxial and bow machine guns, so you scout, guard flanks and hunt light targets while avoiding heavy tanks. The 38(t) was widely used in the invasion of the Soviet Union, and Hungary, Romania and Slovakia fielded it too. A stat card, decals, a build and paint guide and damage markers come in the box.
