Product details

Background & context

Released in 1970, Kelly's Heroes is one of the most famous war films in cinematic history, uniquely combining depictions of war with black humor. The film is based on a fictional story about a group of American soldiers who undertake a daring heist behind enemy lines in World War II. Although the plot is fictional, it is embedded in the historical context of the Western Front and incorporates authentic aspects of the daily lives of American GIs in Western Europe during the war. The characters depicted are deliberately exaggerated and reflect the spectrum of military life - from the idealistic leader to the quirky outsider.

On the tabletop

These eight character figures based on the main characters of the 1970 film Kelly's Heroes bring a touch of cinema to your American army in Bolt Action. The included booklet gives each of them special rules of their own, so you can field them as an unusual unit. In the film a handful of GIs slip behind German lines to grab a bank full of gold bars, a story that makes a good heist scenario.
