    The Norman Warband combines command figures, armoured and unarmoured infantry, mounted knights and crossbowmen into a flexible 28mm force. The box is intended as a starter army for Pillage or other early medieval skirmish games. It depicts a small Norman force with close combat, cavalry and ranged elements.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Normans emerged from Scandinavian settlers in Normandy and developed their own military elite in the 10th and 11th centuries. Their forces combined mounted knights with armed infantry and ranged troops such as crossbowmen. This mix is particularly well suited to raids, smaller engagements, and conquest contexts of the early and high Middle Ages. The composition of the warband reflects flexible warfare, combining mobility and striking power with supportive missile fire.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The Norman Warband is immediately usable as a mixed force and compact starter army for Hail Caesar. In SAGA, Pillage, and Lion Rampant, it provides a flexible selection of leaders, infantry, mounted knights, and crossbowmen. The infantry engages the enemy, while cavalry seeks breakthroughs and crossbowmen apply pressure. The set is particularly suitable for smaller campaigns, raids, and as an introduction to Norman Dark Ages armies.
