    Product details

    Background & context

Developing from Scandinavian settlers in Northern France, the Normans became a powerful military force in the 11th century. Their armies combined cavalry, archers, heavy infantry, and lighter foot soldiers. Unarmored infantry could be deployed with greater mobility in battle than heavily armored warriors. In scenarios set around 1066, they complement the famous Norman cavalry with flexible foot troops.

    On the tabletop

Without mail, armed only with shield and sword or spear, these eight Norman warriors rely on agility. In Hail Caesar, SAGA or Pillage you use this to get round your opponent and catch him in the flank instead of running head-on into a shield wall. In the 11th century Norman armies attracted anyone with weapons and courage, from England to Sicily. Pack B adds further poses to the unit.
