    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Normans were descendants of Scandinavian settlers in northern France, whose name became associated with Normandy. In the 11th century, they launched military campaigns across Europe, most notably the invasion of England in 1066. Mounted knights in chainmail became the striking core of Norman armies, combining mobility with striking power. A command troop with a musician fits this leadership role because signals and coordinated attacks were crucial for cavalry units.
