    Norman Heavy Infantry represents the better-protected foot soldiers of 11th-century Norman armies. Chainmail, shields, and melee weapons made them more resilient than unarmored auxiliaries. In conjunction with cavalry and missile troops, such infantry could tie down enemy lines or hold key positions. Their use is particularly suited to armies of the Norman Conquest period and the Norman campaigns in Europe.

    Norman Heavy Infantry B provides sturdy foot troops for the core of a Norman Hail Caesar battle line. In SAGA, Pillage, and Lion Rampant, these models are suitable as better-equipped warriors who hold key positions or prepare a melee attack. Their job is to tie down the enemy while cavalry and archers seek the decisive blow. They are particularly strong when deployed not in isolation but as part of a combined Norman force.
