Background & context

Die Landwehr wurde 1813 als allgemeines Aufgebot aufgestellt, nachdem Preußen die Seiten gewechselt hatte. Uniformiert wurde, was greifbar war: Litewka, Schirmmütze, dazu eine bunte Sammlung von Musketen. Geschult waren diese Bataillone kaum, und in den ersten Gefechten brachen sie leicht. An der Katzbach und bei Wavre hielten sie trotzdem, und 1815 stellte die Landwehr fast die Hälfte der preußischen Feldarmee.

On the tabletop

This command group turns a Landwehr battalion of your Prussian army into a small scene in Black Powder: a wounded ensign is held up by the drummer while the officer leads on. The officer comes in two versions, one of which is supplied at random, and the flagpole is included but not the flag itself. The Landwehr was raised in 1813 as a general levy, proved itself on the Katzbach and at Wavre and made up almost half of the Prussian field army in 1815.
