Background & context

The Peninsular War was a crucial theater of the Napoleonic Wars. Following the French occupation in 1808, regular Spanish troops, guerrillas, and allied armies fought against Napoleon. The conflicts on the Iberian Peninsula tied up significant French forces and influenced the further course of the war.

On the tabletop

The first battalion of a Spanish line regiment was half grenadiers and half fusiliers, and this box for Black Powder is made up the same way. The 25 resin figures with two standard bearers carry the white Coronela with the royal arms as their regimental colour. The booklet of flags lets you represent different regiments, for example for Bailén in 1808. Together with the second and third battalions it makes a complete regiment.
