    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The French Army of the Hundred Days Campaign represented Napoleon's last attempt to secure his dominion over Europe. The army united battle-hardened veterans with newly raised line regiments and versatile cavalry. The light infantry, acting as a mobile vanguard, handled reconnaissance and flanking duties, while the line infantry formed the backbone of every offensive. Lancers were feared as pursuers of routed enemies and acted as an extension of the infantry formations.
