Product details

Background & context

Spain swallowed soldiers faster than France could train them. As early as July 1808 General Dupont surrendered at Bailén to the Spanish army with a corps made up largely of young conscripts, the first major defeat of a Napoleonic army in the open field. Year after year new recruits filled the gaps, and anyone who survived the first campaigns soon counted as an old hand himself.

On the tabletop

A veteran stands out best among young recruits. Put Morel into a freshly painted battalion of plastic figures to show that the unit has a core of old hands. In Black Powder you reflect that difference through the stats you give the unit in your army list, and the figure makes it visible on the table. He fills a gap in an older regiment just as well.
