Background & context

In autumn 1810 Masséna's army stood before the Lines of Torres Vedras, a belt of fortifications Wellington had built in secret north of Lisbon. For months the French lay in front of them while the country around had been stripped bare. Hunger and disease cost many thousands of men before Masséna fell back into Spain in spring 1811.

On the tabletop

You can use Lambert as a lone sentry guarding a camp, a bridge or a ford in a scenario, ready to raise the alarm as soon as British or Portuguese troops appear. In a full Black Powder battle he goes back into a French line battalion. There he joins the other figures as a replacement or as a change of face in the front rank.
