Product details

Background & context

In 1808 Napoleon made his brother Joseph King of Spain. The Madrid uprising of 2 May and its bloody suppression turned the change of throne into a people's war, which Goya later captured in paintings and in his series of etchings on the disasters of war. Joseph remained a king until 1813 whose rule hardly reached further than French bayonets.

On the tabletop

Romero is a way in if you don't want the whole Vive l'Empereur set straight away. From several of these single figures you gradually build a small unit in Black Powder and field it as an independent force in Peninsular War scenarios. Until the group is complete, he stands as an individual in one of your French line battalions.
