Product details

Background & context

For the French infantry the British army on the Peninsula was an awkward opponent. Wellington liked to post his lines behind ridges, sheltered from artillery fire, and let the French columns walk into his volleys at close range. At Busaco in 1810 this cost Masséna's assaults many men. Rosbif was the name the French gave this stubborn enemy.

On the tabletop

Deschamp suits games against British troops. The O'er the Hills and Far Away set gives him the British Peninsular Veterans as a counterpart, so you can stage a small clash between two groups of characters in Black Powder. In larger battles you mix him into a line battalion advancing in column against Wellington's two-deep line.
