Description

The Foot Artillery of the Imperial Guard was among the most feared artillerymen of the Napoleonic era - their heavy 12-pounders were strategically used to break enemy formations before an infantry assault. The crews fought with fanatical determination for their guns.

Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

The 12-pounder was the heavy field gun of the Imperial Guard, meant to break open enemy formations before the infantry attacked. In this set the four gunners are in the act of firing, so the model shows the battery in the thick of the action. In Black Powder you group the gun with others into a grand battery and aim it at the point where your attack is meant to break through. Mixed with the version showing the crew laying the gun, the gun line looks livelier.
