Background & context

Am Nachmittag des 18. Juni 1815 schickte Ney tausende Reiter gegen die Höhe von Mont Saint Jean, ohne Infanterie und ohne Artillerie im Rücken. Milhauds Kürassiere und die Gardekavallerie unter Lefebvre-Desnouëttes umspülten die britischen Karrees stundenlang, ohne eines zu brechen. Kellermann, dessen Vater 1792 bei Valmy kommandierte, führte das dritte Reiterkorps in dieselbe Attacke. Dort verlor die französische Kavallerie ihren Ruf und ihre Substanz.

On the tabletop

Four mounted generals in Warlord Resin lead your French cavalry in the Hundred Days campaign. Kellermann commanded the III Cavalry Corps, Milhaud the IV and Lefebvre-Desnouëttes the light cavalry division of the Guard. In Black Powder you put the fourth, unnamed commander at the head of a brigade or division. Together they let you recreate the great cavalry attacks that rolled against the British squares at Waterloo.
