Background & context

Die Hundert Tage endeten am 18. Juni 1815 südlich von Brüssel. Wellingtons Armee war ein Flickwerk aus britischen, hannoverschen, niederländischen und braunschweigischen Verbänden, das den ganzen Tag über Angriffe abfangen musste, ohne selbst anzugreifen. Regiments- und Brigadeoffiziere ritten dabei ständig an den Karrees entlang, richteten Lücken wieder ein und holten Reserven heran. Ihre Verluste fielen entsprechend hoch aus.

On the tabletop

A field officer and an adjutant, both mounted and cast in metal, lead your British infantry in the Waterloo campaign of 1815. Officers like these rode along the squares, closing gaps and bringing up reserves. In Black Powder the two of them on one base mark your brigade commander, so it is clear where the orders come from. Besides British battalions they suit a mixed Wellington army with Hanoverian, Dutch or Brunswick troops.
