Product details

Background & context

The MG42 reached the troops in 1942 and gradually replaced the MG34. Firing well over 1,000 rounds per minute, it became one of the best known machine guns of the war. On the Sd.Kfz 250 and 251 halftracks it sat at the front behind a shield and was the main onboard weapon of the Panzergrenadiers, in Russia just as in Tunisia, Italy and France.

On the tabletop

This figure puts a gunner behind the front shield of your Bolt Action Sd.Kfz 250 or 251. That machine gun was how the halftrack covered its dismounted Grenadiers as they moved into the attack. He is shown mid burst, so the vehicle looks crewed on the table. Use him in Bolt Action as well as Achtung Panzer!, in games from 1942 to the end of the war.
