Product details

Background & context

The nickname came from the British: the ring-shaped MG mount on the side of the hull reminded them of a pulpit, so the vehicle was called the Priest. Beneath it sat a 105 mm howitzer on the chassis of an American medium tank, open-topped, with around 3,500 built. The 8th Army received 90 of them in North Africa and took on the supply problem along with them: suitable US ammunition never arrived reliably, yet the Priests carried on to Sicily and Italy.

On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the M7 Priest counts as a light tank armed with a medium howitzer and belongs in an armoured platoon. From its open fighting compartment the 105 mm howitzer fires in an arc at positions and infantry in cover; tank duels are not its job. You can field it in American, British or Canadian lists, for example in North Africa, Sicily, Italy or Normandy. Its stats for Achtung Panzer! are in that game's rulebook.
