    Background & context

    After Dunkirk Britain could not replace its tank losses on its own and went shopping in the USA. The M3 was ordered with a lower turret of British design that housed the radio in its rear, and was named the Grant. From 1942 these tanks brought a gun to the front in North Africa that fired useful high-explosive shells as well as armour-piercing rounds. Once the Sherman was available in numbers, many Grants moved to Burma and fought Japanese positions there until the end of the war.

    On the tabletop

    In Bolt Action three Grants take the field as an Armoured Platoon for British and Australian lists. Each tank fires two guns, the medium anti-tank gun in the hull and the light one in the turret, plus a medium machine gun. As the hull gun only covers the front, you line the platoon up facing the enemy and let it engage positions and vehicles over the heads of your own infantry. Each of the three has its own vehicle card and damage markers. The Grant also rolls in Achtung Panzer!, its stats are in the Iron Coffins supplement.
