Product details

Background & context

From 1943 the US Army raised anti-aircraft battalions on half-tracks to shield columns on the march against low-level attacks. For this the M15 carried a 37 mm gun and two heavy Brownings in an open turret on the rear of an M3. As the Luftwaffe appeared ever more rarely over France and Italy, the crews simply levelled their barrels. Against hedgerows, roadblocks and infantry in the open the effect was devastating.

On the tabletop

The M15 carries a 37 mm autocannon and two heavy .50 cal machine guns in an open turret on an M3 half-track. It was designed against low-flying aircraft, but in Bolt Action it mainly gives your American armoured platoon rapid-firing weapons against infantry, soft-skinned and lightly armoured vehicles. It has enough armour to shrug off small arms fire. Historically its crews turned their barrels on hedgerows and roadblocks once the Luftwaffe appeared less often.
