Product details

Background & context

Louis de Bourbon, later known as the Grand Condé, became one of the most famous French military commanders of the 17th century. His historical context lies in France's involvement in the Thirty Years' War. As a named personality, the product is a commander and individual model.

On the tabletop

For French armies of the Thirty Years War, Louis de Bourbon is the mounted commander. At Rocroi in 1643 he beat the Spanish tercios, and at Lens in 1648 he defeated the Spanish again in the last major battle of the war. At Freiburg and Nordlingen he fought alongside Turenne against the Imperial forces. In Pike & Shotte he leads your French, and since he sided with Spain from 1650 to 1653, he can also head a Spanish army.
