Product details

Background & context

Jacob Astley was an experienced Royalist officer with military experience on the Continent. In the English Civil War, he led Royalist troops, clearly placing him in the command role. The product should be treated as a named individual model and not as a troop set.

On the tabletop

Jacob Astley commanded the Royalist foot at Naseby, and the mounted metal figure takes on the same job in Pike & Shotte. Place him behind your foot regiments as their commander, or use him to lead the entire army of the King. He suits scenarios built around Edgehill and the two battles of Newbury. For Stow-on-the-Wold in March 1646, the last field battle of the war, he commands the final Royalist field army.
