Product details

Background & context

For a long time wood was the main fuel for heating and cooking in rural Europe. Every farm built up stocks over summer and autumn, and the wood had to dry out of the rain so it would burn well in winter. In the Second World War such supplies often mattered greatly to soldiers on the Eastern Front, since in hard frost both sides sought shelter and warmth in the villages.

On the tabletop

Put the log store against the wall of a farmhouse or beside a hut so the building looks lived in. Out in the open it works as a small obstacle that a few figures can hide behind. It fits winter tables on the Eastern Front or in the Ardennes particularly well. A farmstead with several pieces like this feels denser and gives your troops more places to take shelter.
