Hintergrund & Einordnung

The Italian paratroopers of the Folgore Division were among the hardest-fighting units of World War II in the North African campaign. Trained for rapid deployments behind enemy lines, they were instead used in the grueling trench warfare of the desert - and performed extraordinarily well. Despite severe supply bottlenecks and numerical inferiority, these units repeatedly managed to hold back superior forces. Their tenacious resistance under the most adverse conditions earned them a legendary reputation in military history that endures to this day.

Einsatz im Spiel

This starter army allows you to build a balanced force that covers both infantry engagements and mechanized elements. The veteran paratroopers are particularly well-suited for tough defensive scenarios and stubborn rearguard actions, such as those historically seen in desert warfare. Machine gun and mortar teams suppress and wear down the enemy, while the AB 41 armored car provides swift reconnaissance and the Semovente assault gun delivers armored firepower. The combination of elite infantry, heavy supporting fire, and tank support makes this contingent a versatile starting point for North African scenarios.
