    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Late Anglo-Saxons and Anglo-Danes represent the military world of England in the 10th and 11th centuries. Armoured Thegns formed the better-equipped upper class, while unarmoured Fyrdmen represented the broader local levy militia. The shield wall, spears, swords, and large axes characterised warfare during this era. The included monk and command figures are well-suited for scenarios involving Anglo-Saxon armies, Danish settlers, and the power struggles before and after the Viking Age.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The figures in Hail Caesar make for robust infantry for Anglo-Saxon and Anglo-Danish battle lines. In SAGA and Pillage, they are suitable as the core of a versatile warband with armoured and unarmoured fighters. For Lion Rampant, they can be used as heavy or medium infantry. The included command parts allow for leaders, standards, and small retinues.
