    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The late Roman infantry of the 4th and 5th centuries formed the backbone of an empire that was increasingly stressed under the pressure of the Migration Period. Many legionaries fought without full armor, equipped with shields, spears, the spatha, and the feared plumbatae - lead-weighted throwing darts.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Late Roman Unarmoured Infantry are used in Hail Caesar, SAGA, Pillage and Lion Rampant as aggressive melee infantry for 4th-5th century Late Roman, Romano-British or Gothic forces. In-game, the unit builds pressure through mass, terrain attacks, and coordinated advances. It works best when adjacent troops secure the flanks and the attack is not conducted in isolation.
