Hintergrund & Einordnung

The late Roman infantry of the 4th and 5th centuries formed the backbone of an empire that was increasingly crumbling under the pressure of barbarian migrations and internal conflicts. The legionaries wore chainmail and scale armor and fought alongside Germanic foederati.

Einsatz im Spiel

Late Roman Armoured Infantry is used in Hail Caesar, SAGA, Pillage and Lion Rampant as aggressive melee infantry for 4th-5th century Late Roman, Romano-British or Gothic forces. In the game, the unit builds pressure through mass, terrain attacks, and coordinated advances. It works best when adjacent troops secure the flanks and the attack is not carried out in isolation.
