Product details

Background & context

Landsknechts shaped the Italian Wars and the transition to mixed pike-and-shot formations. Their troops combined pike blocks, missile troops, veteran Doppelsöldner, and small artillery pieces. The box covers exactly this broad Landsknecht formation.

On the tabletop

In the game, the starter army provides a complete Landsknecht core with a melee block, fire support, command, and light artillery. Pikemen hold the formation, arquebusiers provide support, Zweihänders reinforce melee, and the hand cannon supplements field artillery.
