Pikes levelled, legs in a lunging stride: here the Gewalthaufen sets off. The poses build pressure into a formation that otherwise only looks like a standing wall on the gaming table.

Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

Lowered pikes and lunging stances show the pike block on the move. In Pike & Shotte you use the eight metal figures for a block that advances and seeks the clash with the enemy formation. Both blocks marched towards each other, lowered their points a few metres apart and pushed until one side broke. For Novara or Bicocca, where Landsknechts and Swiss gave each other no quarter, mix them with standing pikemen into one large block.
