Background & context

Das Parlamentsheer speiste sich aus sehr unterschiedlichen Quellen: den städtischen Trained Bands Londons, eigentlich als Miliz gedacht und dann bei Turnham Green und Newbury der Ausschlag, dazu Regimenter, die Offiziere wie Skippon, Fairfax oder Hutchinson auf eigene Rechnung aufstellten. Jeder Verband brachte seine eigenen Farben mit, meist nach dem Mantel des Obersten benannt. Erst mit der New Model Army ab 1645 wurde daraus ein einheitlich ausgerüstetes Heer.

This sheet gives your Parliamentarian regiments in Pike & Shotte their colours: the Blew Trained Bands of the City of London, the regiments of Sir Phillip Skippon, Sir Thomas Fairfax and Colonel John Hutchinson, plus the Commonwealth flag and a Clubmen banner. Each of the six designs comes in a fresh and a battle-worn version, so you can show whether a regiment is new or has been through Turnham Green and Newbury. Cut out the flag and glue it around your ensign's pole.
