    Product details

    Background & context

Before Operation Totalize in August 1944 the Canadian corps had no way of bringing infantry forward across open ground without losing them to machine gun fire. The solution came from its own workshops: on retired M7 Priests the howitzer was taken out, the opening welded shut and armour plate added. The troops called the vehicles Unfrocked Priests. Within weeks the stopgap had become a type of vehicle that the Allies kept until the end of the war.

    On the tabletop

The Kangaroo carries your British or Canadian infantry behind armour plate to wherever things get dangerous in Bolt Action. It protects the men far better than lorries or half-tracks, and its pintle-mounted heavy machine gun adds covering fire during the advance. It was created in August 1944 before Operation Totalize, when Canadian workshops removed the howitzers from M7 Priests. A stat card, order die, decals and damage markers are included.
