    Background & context

    Die kaiserlich-japanische Marine ließ den Type 2 Ka-Mi bauen, weil ihre Landungsverbände Panzer brauchten, die ohne Hafen an Land kamen. Die Konstruktion beruht auf dem leichten Type 95 Ha-Go, ergänzt um eine wasserdichte Wanne und zwei abnehmbare Schwimmkörper aus Stahlblech. War der Strand erreicht, löste die Besatzung die Pontons und der Wagen kämpfte als normaler leichter Panzer weiter. Gebaut wurden nur wenige Hundert, eingesetzt vor allem bei den Inselkämpfen im Pazifik.

    On the tabletop

    The Type 2 Ka-Mi was the Japanese navy's amphibious tank: a light tank based on the Type 95 Ha-Go with a watertight hull and a pontoon at the front and rear. This model shows it with the floats fitted, approaching the beach from its landing ship. In Bolt Action you use it in landing scenarios from the island fighting in the Pacific; once the pontoons were dropped, it fought on as a normal light tank. The model is resin and metal.
