Product details

Background & context

Swiss pikemen were among the most influential mercenary troops of the Italian Wars. Their dense pike formations shaped European infantry warfare and also influenced the Landsknechte.

On the tabletop

The 24 Swiss pikemen with their command group form a pike block for Italian Wars armies in Pike & Shotte. Unlike many pikemen of their day the Swiss did not wait but attacked in dense columns, and that is how you use the unit. As mercenaries they fought for many masters, so you can attach them to various armies of these wars. Further packs let you enlarge the block.
