Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

Pikes levelled for the charge show the Swiss block on the attack, the way the Confederates liked to fight best. In Pike & Shotte this block stands for the assault: you lead it straight at the enemy instead of waiting on the defensive. From 1494 Swiss contingents fought for France, the Pope and Milan, having learned against armies of knights at Sempach and Morat. Landsknechts, who copied the formation and dress of the Swiss, make fitting opponents.
