Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

Around 1500, Swiss units took on more and more men armed with the arquebus. In Pike & Shotte you add the eight metal figures to your Swiss pike blocks or field them as a unit of shot in their own right. The arquebus ball pierced plate armour that crossbow bolts glanced off, even though reloading took about a minute and rain made the weapon useless. Bicocca in 1522 showed how much this changed battle, a scenario for your Italian Wars games.
