    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Italian paratroopers were among the most effective units of the Regio Esercito and were highly regarded even by enemy commanders. In the desert battles of North Africa, these elite troops demonstrated exceptional steadfastness under extreme pressure, continuing to fight even when supplies and ammunition had long run out. For heavy support tasks, the airborne divisions relied on proven weapons such as the Breda-37 machine gun and the 81mm Modello 35 mortar. This combination of determination and firepower made the Paracadutisti a formidable adversary on almost any battlefield.
