Product details

Background & context

The officers of the Paracadutisti went through the same training as their men, jump school included, a point that noticeably changed the relationship between the ranks. Accordingly they led from the front, from within the firing line rather than from the command post. That cost officers, but it produced platoons that still reacted when the radio link had long since gone. At El Alamein and later in Sicily this short chain of command was often the reason why Italian paratroopers held out longer than expected.

On the tabletop

Every platoon type in a Paracadutisti army for Bolt Action needs its own leader, and this pack contains four of them: for rifle, recce, heavy weapons and artillery platoons. This lets you field several platoons side by side without taking officers from other boxes. The figures can also be used anywhere in your paratrooper force where leadership is needed. Like their men, these officers had been through jump training and led from the front.
