Product details

Background & context

The Folgore Division had been raised for an airborne operation against Malta that never took place. Instead it came to North Africa on foot in 1942 and held the southern sector of the front at El Alamein until ammunition and water ran out, against tanks and with little more than small arms and mines. Its officers had been through the same jump training as the other ranks, which was unusual in an army with strict class boundaries and made the difference in action.

On the tabletop

Four metal figures form the command of your Paracadutisti in Bolt Action. The officer leads the platoon, while the two NCOs serve as additional leaders or at the head of individual squads. The radio operator acts as a forward observer and calls in artillery support. With Beretta submachine guns and light machine guns the paratroopers were built for close-range firepower, and once dug in they held their positions even against tank attacks.
