Product details

Background & context

Every division of the Regio Esercito had artillery of its own assigned, yet a large part of the equipment still dated from the First World War. That is exactly why its effect depended on the forward observers: anyone who directed fire cleanly could get deadly salvoes even out of obsolete barrels. The same went for naval guns off the coast and ground-attack aircraft over the battle. On the enemy side these men accordingly stood high on the list of worthwhile targets.

On the tabletop

Three Bersaglieri with binoculars and a radio represent a forward observer in Bolt Action. Men like these directed the fire of batteries far behind the front, naval guns off the coast and ground attack aircraft onto their targets. In the Regio Esercito, whose guns often dated from the First World War, a lot depended on an observer who called in fire accurately. Place the team high up and in cover, because your opponent will try to take it out early.
