Product details

Background & context

The Type 98 was the most widely built light anti-aircraft gun of the Imperial Japanese Army. For the self-propelled conversion it was set on the rear of a six-wheeled Type 94 lorry, later a Type 96, so that the firepower could follow the troops on the march. On paper a range of 5,500 metres and up to 300 rounds per minute were respectable, but such vehicles were built only in small numbers. They were used above all in the air defence units of the Japanese tank divisions.

On the tabletop

This lorry with its Type 98 20 mm autocannon is the only dedicated anti-aircraft option of your Japanese army in Bolt Action. With the Flak special rule it protects your troops from fighter-bombers, and the fast-firing gun is just as dangerous against infantry and light vehicles. Only a few were built, serving in the air defence units of the Japanese tank divisions. Decals and damage markers are included, and Achtung Panzer! supports the vehicle too.
